Adhar Mook badhir Vidyalaya (School for hearing impaired children)

The school was founded in the year 1985.

Mission

"To impart education of high standard along with technical skills to the hearing impaired children so as to improve their employment opportunities with the emphasis on teaching values that make them good citizens and human being."

• With two children to start with, the school has grown up over last 30 years with the present strength of 112 children.

• The school has its own building which includes hostel as well, with built-up area of 8000 Sq.ft. Out of 112 students, 71 students, both boys and girls stay in the hostel

• Adhar Mook-badhir Vidyalaya provides education from pre-primary to 7th standard.

• Pre-primary education consists of 5 steps, each of 1 year.

• The child gets admission to the fist standard after clearing the fifth step examination.

• It also provides the facility for these children to appear directly for the 10th standard examination externally, conducted by Secondary School Certificate Examination Board (SSCE) of Govt. of Maharashtra since the year 2012

• Adhar Mookbadhir Vidyalaya has 35 employees which includes Principal.13 specially trained teachers,a warden , caretakers and cooks.

• The school is recognized by Gov. of Maharashtra up to 4th Standard with aid and 5th to 7th Standard education is without aid.

• The children admitted in the school are from economically backward families. The parents of these children are not in a position to bear the expenses of education from 5th standard onward which are run by the school / Adhar Mandal without aid.

• There is no provision of finance for maintenance of the school building.

• Present school building is not sufficient to carry out planned expansion activities.
